To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, the Monroe America 250 Committee will connect Monroe’s own heritage to the national story by creating meaningful experiences that foster a renewed sense of pride, civic connection, and shared appreciation of the founding of our nation and the remarkable journey of the last 250 years.
Honoring the Declaration of Independence
Council passed a proclamation honoring the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence at the City Council Regular Meeting of January 13, 2026.
